瑪格麗特．路斯芬．蘭是美國第一位受大樂團青睞、能與其合作的女性作曲家，生於音樂世家的她，曾赴慕尼黑學習鋼琴與作曲，與德弗札克、李斯特、華格納等名家均有來往，後來回到美國，也對當地的樂壇產生了深遠的影響。本專輯由由致力研究蘭的男高音 Donald George 與女鋼琴家 Lucy Mauro 合作，演唱多首受到晚期浪漫主義影響的作品，在透明的錄音中，傳達出人聲最美麗的境界。
